The Akashic Records
Acrylic on 2 Canvases (Diptych)
Law Blank
In this vivid and dimensional diptych, Law Blank delves into the cosmic archives of memory, myth, and misjudgment. “The Akashic Records” presents a layered, textural portal through which a lone figure—part astronaut, part oracle—penetrates the metaphysical plane only to emerge haunted by the weight of introspection.
Set against electric pinks, bruised blues, and coded glyphs of layered mark-making, the upper panel confronts us with bold typography: “Penetrating the Akashic Records with Regrets”—a statement that serves as both proclamation and confession. The lower canvas deepens the journey, abstracting the figure into swirling energies and half-formed visions, suggesting both access and overwhelm in the act of revelation.
This piece is a meditation on the tension between knowing and longing, the records we seek and the ones we try to forget. Both canvases are unified through expressive brushwork, bold color interplay, and Blank’s signature blend of speculative mysticism and pop-cultural residue.
A standout from The Great Migration series, this work invites the viewer to question not just what is remembered, but how it’s recorded—and what it costs to look back.
